Family Food Audits
Becoming aware of our annual consumption of vegetables and meat and quantifying it approximately. If each individual and family unit does this approximately we end up with a collective estimate of how much of each sort of vegetable and meat produce we get through in a year.
We then take this estimate and covert it into an order that we place with the local growers. This is our firm commitment as a collective of local consumers to our local growers.
This means that
- our food gets grown for us locally
- our money circulates locally, reinforcing the local economy
- The local growers get complete security for their crops.
- With no middleman the growers can charge less and pay their workers better
- The Food Miles are kept to a minimum thus helping our personal and collective footprint.
- People on low incomes can pay for their crops by inputting labour.
