LETS schemes are a familiar and working thing in our communities now. They do however lack a certain ‘edge’ in that it is difficult to use them for mainstream purchase
As the Area Co-op develops and trust and understanding along with community strength and vision come into play a cooperative approach to banking will develop of its own accord.
Through things like the underpinning of the LETS with the Local Earth Shares from the Local Earth Heart more real muscle will come into the picture. This will dynamically strengthen and alter things.
