Live Earth Story
The Live Earth Story or Stories are tales into the future of how we as a species woke up to the fact that we are one species among many and that if we are to survive through time we must learn to live in an interdependent way with the rest of life. This of course has special relevance when we consider the fact that our excessive consumption may have unbalanced the climate.
The stories spring from the work of Joanna Macey the American Deep Ecologist and her ideas for the Great Turning. This involves imagining ourselves in the future say 100 years from now. Human kind is living in balance and harmony with itself, the other species and the rest of Nature. Obviously we are not headed in that direction at the moment so something or things must have occurred to precipitate this change. Stories are then told in a retrospective manner looking back and recounting imaganitive and creative events.
Live Earth adds to this and slightly turns things around by bringing into the mix the recognition of the Live Earth or Planetary Common Bond. This precipitates sustainable organic social patterning and development of all kinds. So the tales recount this and explore and express and sketch in the possibilities.
